Aframax Average Freight
Rate Assessment. It is a method to determine freight
dollars to be paid a tanker owner for transporting
petroleum products including crude oil. It applies
to tankers in the 70,000 to 120,000 DWT size class.
AMP Alternative Marine Power
ANS Alaskan North Slope. Crude oil produced
in the North Slope region of Alaska.
ANWR Arctic National Wildlife
Refuge. A potential oil producing area in Alaska
near the North Slope that is currently not open to
exploration and production.
